GeneticFX Studio
allows you to evolve graphical images and image processing
effects.
Explore a strange
and diverse virtual genetic space. Starting from a few randomly
generated images, you control the direction of evolution of the
images. Similar to exploring a fractal space, except the results
are not limited to a specific mathematical fractal model, because
it is that underlying mathematical model that is being evolved.
Explore images
which have a digital feel, fractal like images, or images which
appear much more organic. There are no restrictions as the program
that produces the images itself evolves to new forms.
Obviously you
can save images you discover, you can also save the genetic information
that produced the image as a small text file which you can email
to friends and can build up libraries of genetic information which
can be evolved by others or interbred with other genetic images.
But there is
more. The genetic information you evolve can be applied to any graphics
file. You could for example, evolve a complex organic image and
then explore the effects that that image's genetics have when applied
to a photograph of your pet dog. For an example of this, see the
Image Processing Introduction.
In this way
you can evolve image processing effects, similar to the Effects
or Filters in many graphics packages, except now, there are a limitless
number of effects to explore and you are the one creating them.
GeneticFX Studio
can also be used as a more serious tool, either for image processing
effect development or as a tool to explore genetic algorithms.
